My toys were perfect. Santa knew exactly what I wanted...plus one I did not know I wanted! Santa is smart!

Santa, ie me, brought me the new Scalextric McLaren F1GTR in the Gulf livery. I'm happy, but slightly disappointed that its performance is nowhere near as good as the previous Porsche 911. I assume some of it may be due to its width which is more than 1/8" less than the Porsche and btw all of the other F1GTRs from other manufacturers.

Mine is a screamer. And the width? Actually more accurate, especially compared to the NINCO.

I did say it was only slightly disappointing. As always the motor performance is a result of the luck of the draw. I definitely got extremely lucky with the motor in one of my Porsches. The F1GTR, before tuning, wouldn't corner as well.

Yeah I have seen a couple in testing that are pretty hot. Like you said, luck of the draw.

Santa brought me a TruSpeed MTI controller and a Scalextric Ferrari 412P. Also 3 white bodies; Cooper-Ford, NSR P68 and a NSR 917. Along with assorted hardware to build each from scratch.

Santa brought back memories of yesteryear for me but these Scalectric cars are better detailed than the old Eldon cars my buddy and I raced when we were in grade school.
Main thing that I noticed was the drivers, it must be a one size fits all for either the 1/32 or the 1/24 cars.
