Scalextric Dual Power and 4 Lane Power Base?

It appears that all of Scalextric's current powerbases no longer offer the option of having a transformer for each lane. Also, the wiring which facilitated 4 lane set ups seems gone too. Have I missed something? Thanks!

You have seen correctly. We have asked many... many times for the 4 lane power base to be returned, sadly we're not making any headway having it return.

Thats a shame. When Sport track was introduced I thought it would be just a matter of time before we would see some of those cool Classic pieces offered.....mainly a basic straight chicane. Still waiting! And now this...... I just don't get it.

Dave:

So if we use two of the current powerbases, in a 4 lane set up, two lanes will run counter clockwise and the other two clockwise?!

The new Scalextric powerbase track is better in some respects since it no longer goes from AC to DC. The new one comes with a more powerful 1.2 amp DC transformer and doesn't have the electrical components inside that converted the old 0.8 amp AC transformer to DC at the track rails.
