HELP with Scalextric Guide

Postby indybob009 » Thu Mar 07, 2019 2:17 pm

Anyone know where I can get some new guides for my Scalextric Mustangs. I have plenty of brushes but I lost the other guide itself and the other one just fits loose and keeps coming out. My grandkids love these Mustangs; they do run great. I am not much of a fan of these type of guides but that's what they use. Thanks for any help.

I had a Camaro that used to pop its guide sometimes in hard racing but a small bit of plastic pushed down the slot when it's in solved that problem

If the Boss (Harry) doesn't find his stash, let me know... I have quite a few of those...

That same exact Mustang (#25 - Mike Folsom) used to loose its guide on my track too. Only car I every had that happen to. It might still happen, I just don't use it much anymore since the Cougars and Javelins joined the field.

Thanks guys. Harry said he would look for some. Putting a piece of something in the slot to spread it apart more sounds good also. I tried tape wrap around the post to make it a tighter fit but did not work well. Thanks

I found 4 and will go in the mail.

Order some M2 set screws (like for Slot.it wheels/gears) they work well to spread the post just enough to keep them in without hard binding.
