White kits

We often wonder why manufacturers don't offer more white kits.

I seems that Carrera recently provided a reason. When question whether their latest 917k was a fantasy livery it is basically white with numbers on it a designer from Carrera responded that it is an actual car - that it was done as a basic livery to make it easier for repainting why?

"we avoid the circumstances to get a white kit licensed (which is a complete different field of licensing)"

interesting
cheers

As a company you might be particular about how your cars are represented in the outside world.

That is to say, an embarrassing livery could be, well, embarrassing.

Most do not do white kits because they simply do not sell well enough to justify them.

This has been talked about and proven by the sales numbers over the years.

If they would get the price differences wider then I think they would sell better. The way it is, it's actually cheaper to purchase a beautifully painted and decal'd body than to purchase a white body and then buy paint and decals to finish it.
