BARC Viper

Willyg sent me a Viper in a horse trading deal. At the time I received it, I was thinking it might make a Good GT3 car, but I found out this style does not fit the correct time line of the Proxy.

Regardless I forged ahead thinking I would build a Chassis V2 for the GT3 proxy and if the chassis turned out quick enough I could always add a correct body style.

I used a modified Avant anglewinder pod and built a Brass chassis around it. Pod can be tighened using the rear screws. Front wheels are a solid axle riding on Bearings inserted into Lego blocks. I have a large supply of old Cox rims so again they get used on this build.

I don't have many blue cars, and this Fly Viper had a nice finish so I decided to keep it. I Painted the lower rocker panels and added racing stripes before adding some BARC identifying decals.

Cool car, I didn't know Avant had a small can angle winder pod. Going to have to look into that!

Re Small can Avant

That is where the word “modified” comes into play. Avant don’t make one, so I bashed one
