The topic of "realistic intake trumpets" came up on another forum, and while I am sure that most of you know/use these ferrules on your builds, for those that don't,...well,...they come in a variety of sizes (dia, and length), to suit a variety of cars, are really inexpensive, are very light, and really do add some realism to your builds.

Google "Uninsulated Ferrules".

While many have seen the following pics, I am re posting to show those unaware of these little ferrules.

I have always used aluminum tubing, flared with an old-fashion fuel and brake line flaring tool, trimmed. This is way easier, and I don't have to search for aluminum tubing so small. Thanks. Rivet counters around the world salute you!

So, you aren't going to tell us what sizes?

Mcmaster Carr. Sized to wire, also, #10. #12 and so on. Specs are also given in tables. They are great for many cars.

Chris, you sure build fantastic cars.

Guide wire eyelets are very similar.

Lovely selection of cars Chris, I too use these ferrules, and I'm not wanting to stray off the subject, but could you flip these cars and show us the chassis please?

I had more than I thought on this computer.....I think I only missed the Slot-it McLaren M8D,...which runs with a mildly modified version of the stock chassis.

Beautiful work, not just eye candy, but they all go rather well!

Such fine work makes me embarrassed to show what I build. I do think for anything 1/32 you will not want ferrules any bigger than 14gg wire.

I also use them for axle spacers on some cars, McMaster /Carr does have a table giving the dimensions
