Thanks to a couple of the members here I came up with bodies. Decals from Jim Heller. The White body came to me bare and the Red one was originally a Kevin Harvick car. I see so many Harvick cars for sale they must have made a million of them. I already had one new in the box so this one was destined to be something else. Stripped the body back to plain Red by soaking overnight in Alcohol. First time doing that and it worked great. Being a Dale Earnhardt fan I looked for a decal set that would be appropriate for a Red body and came up with the Taz paint job he used for one race back in the 2000 Daytona 500. The wife has been wanting her own car and she's an Elvis freak so the Dale Jr Elvis car was the obvious choice. I painted the bare bodies with a couple coats of Tamiya clear laquer as a base and then after the decals were good and dry I did 3 mist coats and a couple of wet coats over the whole thing to seal the decals. I'm an amateur at this and read some horror stories about using clear over decals but I think they came out presentable. The Elvis car is lacking the rear wing but I have one coming on the slow boat from the UK one of these days.
