I like that Mercedes, but the GT looks good too. :) My wallet is screaming again. :lol:

I made a special trip to Holly Hill today to get my Ford GT. I have been anticipating this car since they first announced it would be part of their product line. Unlike another car I had eagerly waited for that came out about a month ago, this slot car is all you could ask for at this price. I was able to take it out of it's clear case, put it on the track and turn some very respectable laps. I then proceeded to check it out more completely. No burrs on the front hubs as was reflected by the fact that the car rolled smoothly on the track. This is one of the new sidewinders with the gear on the can end of the motor. The guide flag itself is different than previous Ford GTs but I could not detect any change in the front of the chassis. The entire car weighs a mere 64gms and it still has pretty much a full interior.

I think this car is about as accurate externally as a car at this price can be, There are a couple of issues, namely the fuel filler on the right side and no bump on the right fender to represent where it had been cut open and a piece of bulged sheet metal attached to allow the front suspension full travel. There may be other minor details that are missing but I'm not a rivet counter. They did get the paint right as there is no orange stripe on the right side and the front bonnet is semi gloss black. No scoops on the upper rear deck which is correct.

This time I feel I got my money's worth and more.

The GT40 will end up here eventually. I don't get every Slot.it out there, but this series is just too nice to ignore.

I saw the new Sauber up close and it looks as good in person as it does on a computer screen. But alas my wallet only allowed me one purchase at this time and I already have at least three of the saubers.

Hey, I love the looks of this car as well. But you have been talking about this one for quite some time. I'm glad you chose one of the good ones.

I wonder if it's got anything for me #8 GT-40 - you know the one that never even completed a single lap at Le Mans?

here are a couple of images showing the differences between three brands of the same car. The scaley car is of the team mate car from the 1966 Daytona Continental but all three cars were virtually identical save the identification marks.
They are left to right, Fly, Slotit, Scalextric.

"So close" I think pretty good.

Scalextric and Fly have the fuel filler wrong, Slot.it got it right.

Harry, that's the clearest photo I've seen yet and it looks like the bulges were on both front fenders. Thanks for posting it. Like they say in the model plane world "it's close enough for jazz". Even for me, it is first and foremost a slot car and the fact that they got so much of it dead on makes it more special to me. It won't be a shelf queen and now that I have it I may go to work on the Fly #98 and try getting it closer in looks as it will be relegated to sitting on the shelf. I may even try replicating the third car in the 1-2-3 finish if I can find photos. Funny how the second and third place cars are almost lost to history.

I have that Fly car. Just sitting there. Problem is, I am a Slot.it fan and have all the other Fords...but this one.

We know what is going to happen.

But when you driving one of these high performance Slot.It cars, I've never been able to see any of the 'issues' or non-close items as the car runs by at about 15 fps!

Considering what the Slot.It car sells for and what you get for that amount of money, I'm always looking towards seeing the new Slot.It cars coming down the pike.

Right now I've gotten my fair share of Slot.It for "Classic", "Group C" and "Modern Le Mans".

However with that being said, I am looking forward to adding a couple of Slot.It cars to the "Collection". That would be the Matra and McLaren in "Classics" and the Denso Toyota 88C in "Group C".

I race all of my slot cars. In my way of thinking Slot.It provides me the best value for my $$$$.

Just my opinion of course.
