While trying to film my own episode of American Pickers last night, I acquired this and a few other picked treasures off my neighbors tree lawn.

As soon as I spotted it I knew exactly what it could be used for.

I thought outside the box, dvd box and turned this dvd shelf into my new parking garage...err..slot shelf.

They pitched it out and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Along with the craftsman scroll saw also that only needed a blade?

My neighbors must have more money than brains I guess?

Anyhow here is a picture of it below.

I've seen these before rather inexpensively at Walmart or Target I believe?

I've seen them at garage sales to but never gave them a second glance at the time.....

Or you can always raid the wife's DVD collection shelf she may have in the rec room!!!

Good find. Most of everything I own is something some one else threw out or wanted hauled away. Twice a year infront of the same houses year after year, on city wide clean up day there are mountans of new or close to new stuff. Even the antique dealers and second hand shops are picking stuff up to resale in there stores. But then I live close to a town where people buy up lake front homes for 1/2 a mill. Then buldoze them and have it hauled to the land fill just to spend even more money building another 8000sq. ft. lake front home. Then live in it on weekends for 3 months out of the year, and in 10 to 15 years, sale it to someone else, that dose the same thing over again. I keep telling people there going to have to put a red flashing light on top of the land fill soon to keep the airplanes from running into it. It's the tallest man made structure in the county.

Thanks guys!

Just thinking out of the box a little bit to help all us slotters out there in some small way!

Its small ideas like this that make people think of other uses for common items around the house.

I was fortunate to score it off my neighbors tree lawn first before the regular scrappers came around and grabbed it that night.

It's functional and I like it!

Plus the price was right.....

As the old saying goes, "If it's free its me".....
