I just noticed in the new stuff page at Electric Dreams that Fly has just released the team A.I.R. #8 Lola T70 driven by Lothar Motschenbacher and Ed Leslie at the 1970, correction, 1969 24hrs. of Daytona. It has the new inline chassis, which personally I like, and is listed for $49.95. I think I will be adding this one to my collection of Lola T70s.

I just got my order in. I think maybe, even though they were released without much fanfare, these will sell out rather quickly.

Look forward in hearing reports on it.
Dang it, I was perfectly happy ignoring these cars. Now? :)

I would be very curious to see a head-to-head comparison with the new inline chassis and the classic sidewinder cars.

My yellow Lola with the inline motor runs very well against my other sidewinders but it is all in the set up. The new inline cars have body details that are a little inferior to the originals but they are only noticeable if held up close. On the track at 10 ft/sec. it is impossible to detect the differences. I did notice that the 1:1 #8 car had the single headlight buckets like the R/M spyders. For me a minor detail flaw I can live with.
