Am I wrong, or is that super resistant model exactly the same as the regular one, but with black glass, no interior, and no lights? The bodies look identical, down to the wing, mirrors, and splitter. So, what exactly is it resistant to? Scale appeal?

And while we're on the subject of Maseratis- it's fantastic that Scalextric has the license to manufacture Masers, but it would be great if they looked to some of the Masers of the past. I'm pretty sure that Birdcages would fly off of the shelves.

You are not wrong. Just a different "interior" or lack thereof. Body is the same. The mirrors might be flexible rubber, on some they are like that.

Just a lower cost version, although not by much.

But when shopping you might find them reduced by a larger margin.

A classic birdcage? Now who in the wide wide world of sports would want such a thing? :)
