Nascar Revisited

We had such a good time racing Carrera Nascars a while back that we decided to have a weekend event racing them again at South Manchester Slot Racing Club. We decided to restrict the cars to Classic Carreras only. Somewhat surprisingly the old model 57 Chevrolet and the Lee Petty Plymouth Fury aquitted themselves very respectably and finished in 2nd and 3rd places overall.
Here is the grid.

Excellent :)

Looks great. Glad to hear the 57 and Plymouth are here. They can be tuned to raced well as you show.

By the way, nice job on the Ford repaint.

The Carrera classic nascars are the most active class here at DeBary Glen. I hope we get our program restarted within a month now that the evenings are cooling down. It's good to know the older style bodies are competitive. I might just get that 57 Chevy.

Thanks for the kind comments guys. The car that won the event was the number 30 Dodge, but that is the vehicle of our most dedicated racer so is ultra sharp. The 57 Chevy and the Plymouth Fury have narrower wheels and tyres than the moderns. This didn't seem to hamper them in any way and being Carrera were very smooth out of the box. Not sure why the Ford got a repaint but Dave doesn't need much of an excuse to get the cans and tape out.
