Oh boy! That rear window and fit of the nose looks real funky! But being the Mopar guy I am, I will probably buy one. :D Any more pictures?

It looks like they fixed the rear window for this car. Um no comment. Nice fitment on the nose, um doublely no comment!

I'm a bit mystified, too, but I will say that the photo you posted has the shade of red/orange dead on correct. Carrera's car isn't quite right (not that any of us cared- we bought them like crazy men).

What's going on with that nose piece?

What, no steel wheels and dog dish hubcaps? :lol:

We're never going to forget that one, are we? Its the first thing I thought of. LOL.

That must be the cowl induction nose cone, sends more air to the radiator! :o

Hmmmmm, so much for hoping this would come and go quietly.

Scalextric knows the mistakes made. I have spoken with them over this car and rest assured they realize the issues.

But it is what it is. And there will be a few more I am sure.

So for many of us, it will not be on our must have list. "This is not the Mopar you are looking for...move along"

But the crafty enthusiast? Hmmm, perhaps when they go on discount they could be made into some nice USAC Springfield Dirt warriors?

By that do you mean there are probably more errors on this one, or that they are going to make more liveries with the same errors? If so, there's an opportunity for us to come up with a fix for them and pick them up dirt cheap when they don't sell. I am going to hold them to a stand-off scale appearance next to the Carreras. I have a significant investment in the Carreras, and I won't have a mix of scales of the same car.

There will be more liveries on this body.

Scalextric is no different from any maker. Sometimes they deliver a really great model, sometimes not. The Cougar, Challenger, & Lotus are among that appear to be nicely done. This one is not.

So yes, I try to be optimistic when possible :)

And I really want to wait until I see them in hand before I make any more decisions.
