We are now running big slot.it motors on most cars and it really is taxing our digital power supply, (often beeps & goes crazy, cars get slower), seems the track don't like these big amp motors, is there a better power supply we could add to our stock package to help with our big 4 lane 75' digital oval?, we already have jumper wires around the track for distant power loss a tip we got here from Harry, our local dealer is in the dark on this matter. Help!
Thanks guys in advance.
Gary

I think you are risking damage to the digital part of your system by going with higher powered motors and things could get worse if you try to boost the power.

You probably will not damage the "black box" part of a digital system by going to a bigger power supply because the actual power to the cars does not go through that. The chips in the cars are what are more likely to be at risk. If you were running the Scalextric system and you wanted to use higher powered motors you could put Slot.it chips in the cars.

Thank you all for the replies! we knew this was the place for answers!
Razorjohn, yes we run magnets but nothing more than the ones that come in the cars out of the box, including slot.it scallies, flys & Carrera's.
Richd, knock wood,, have not blown out the D26732 chips yet......
Cinci slots, will show the track owner your power supply unit, that's what we're looking for, is this a direct plug in unit? we run 6+ cars + 2 ghost cars at times & may add more cars & track down the road as more people are coming to race (his track is across the road from a 1 to 1 oval track), have to wait sometimes for a lanes to open up & take turns.
We are still new at this & learning everyday with the help from you all here on HRW.
Thanks again guys! :text-thankyouyellow:

One of our guys is an electrician. He wired 2 power supplies in parallel for out 1/24 racing. He said it does not alter the power or amperage, but it prevents the dips when all of us take off at once. Since then we have run 5-6 out of the box magnet cars with no problems at all. However, I do have a problem when only running a single car! To avoid this I place a car on the track but out of the way with the lights on and now it works fine with one or 6 cars.
I am guessing it might work with 1/32 scale. Just something that worked for us.
One other thing. When the power blinks out we all got a free fill up on fuel.

It is not but you can clip yours and twist it on to the front of the power supply. Call me Monday 1-800-543-495nine.
