Had a chance to do some racing today with HRW Jim. We don't get a chance that often but when we do get together, we like a lot of variety.



Started out with good old Fly Classics. Always a good idea :)



Then to SCX Cudas. Miss this company, wish they would bounce back and make some nice cars again.



Then right to the Scalextric bowties. Jim's cars are always smooth and this old warrior was a tough competitor.



Onto the oval! And what else?



Had a ball with the Zippertops. Not sure how, but the old Plymouth is a fast one!



Big car action. Jim teaches me a lesson in 1/24. I had it coming to me of course :)



Testing the trucks. This was a wild wreck, but at least one of us was intact enough to get us into the pits.



Ah the old hammers. What a sight.



Had to honor Knightrider with a lap.



Vintage time. I don't have these tuned quite right, but they were still fun..and talk about close quarters!



Might not be for everyone, but these Sideways cars are a lot of fun. We really got after it with them.



Blew the dust off the old tubs. Another good fight. I think Jim said his car a bazillion laps. It runs like it too...silky smooth.



Good ending to a day.

Overall I took 2nd place. It's another podium finish for me so I am not complaining!

Thanks Jim, had a blast. Always fun to get a chance to race with you.

Looks like fun Im comin over. I never tire of seeing the #22 Fireball Galaxie every so often. What a machine!

I'm so jealous. I haven't run on a track in weeks. But today, I got to run on a quarter of a track. I started taping today.

H'mmmm kind of looks like a day at DeBary Glen, with the variety of cars.

I personally think that any day spent "Running" your slot cars against any of your friend's slot cars is a good day for the both of you. While there is no formal racing, it can be more FUN then either of you can handle.

How do you determine who gets to choose the next genre of car?

I had a great day Harry. We do need to get together more often. Your turn to head this way next.The great thing about going to your house is no matter what I put in my case, you like " I have one of those". You know you say the Sideways cars aren't for everyone but after leaving your house last time I saw how sweet they ran with a pair of PG tires and Marks motor I picked one up with the money I had laying waiting for the Pioneer Camaros to come and I'm glad I did. They run great and were a blast to race. BTW you kill me with the 2cd place BS. The only time I was close was running Cheaters truck or a car you tuned. LOL I'm with you on SCX and the Scaley Camaros are always fun. Thanks again for a day of fun Harry, just what I needed before the busy holiday season. Jimi

Marty, what ever car just seems to "talk" to us. We raced on the road course for awhile, then Jim says: "Hey, how bout some oval action?"

Sort of like that. No real plan. Just grab and go:)

I'm trying to build a fire under my club members currently to do the same thing also before the holidays hit and everyone is commited to other things.

Doesn't get much better than a day with friends and runnin' slot cars! I agree with the SCX cars, they need to come back. Those 'Cudas were some of the best cars they did. :)

Did I read correct, you put one of Mark's motors in the Sideways cars. His Nc5 replacement or the MT/1?? I have only one of these and I'm itching to get it on track but the stupid fast motor is a turn-off for my Dad.

Yes sir. The MT-5 (NC Replacement) motor drops in and clears any body work on these.

They are a blast with this change. We are just like your Dad, the Flat-6 is just too much for our smaller track.

But don't think they are boring...they scoot.

I second what Harry said they are a blast. Mark's MT-5 and Paul Gage tires and your good to go. I guarantee you will not be unhappy with the results. They are plenty fast enough but an absolute blast to drive. I know you spending a few more bucks on a $60 car but the results are worth it. These are cars I will always pack in my traveling slot box. BTW he did the same to a few of his slot it's with equally impressive results. ( I am going to do the same with the few I have). As far as the pictures I ready for your visit man. Just let me know.
