Mine is on the way and will do a short review.

With all the great photos out there by Slot.it and others, what do you Can-Am experts think?

Is it good enough for you?

Really, really excellent effort on Slot.it's part. I do have an issue with the height and the wheels not being completely correct, but I understand that compromises have to be taken to make it run well on a track.

The bigger issue for me is this: Should I now sell my HSRR versions to get it?

To me, the stance and the shape look great, even if a detail or two is off. Might be the best looking M8D to date, except for the HSRR -- but they got the stance all wrong.

This car seems like an automatic 'buy' for Can-Am fans. Too good to miss.

No, I will not be asking "Do you know what day it is?'" I will be saying that this is the early version of the car Dan Gurney drove. It is prior to when the "Gurney Hump" was built into the rollbar.

One of the "pickers of nits" at another site has addressed most of his issues with the car. He mentions the lack of 15 inch wide wheels, then showed how to take the supplied inserts and recess them into the wheels providing for a better "look".

He also did his own comparison to "scale correctness" and he was impressed with how true to scale this car actually is.

I totally believe jn the "rule of 15". That is either 15 feet away or the car is going 15 feet per second as it passes you is when you need to determine the "correctness" of a new slot car model.

Just my 2¢ on the subject.

Im not expert on Can-am but I think its a great looking car. I only have one gripe & thats the wheels & tires. I think they need to be wider. Otherwise its the Mclaren is a beauty.

I would have to hold one in my hand and give it the close once over. Which I will
do as soon as I get one. Hopefully in "The Bear's" livery.

I am getting mine today or Monday - then I will "nitpick" and allow others to heap insults on me. I have the VMG 1/28 cars and the HSRRC. At least the guide blade will be deep enough on this one.

Better keep your rain hat on Dan, you don't even have to nit pic to have the insults raining down.

Unlike the Chaparall, Slot.it has a lot of liveries to choose from on this car. I don't know the production numbers but with the customer cars, there ought to be enough to allow them to put out new variations for quite awhile.

Why wait, PM is selling the white car.
