Seeing a lot of great building/tuning going on. Fun to see all the projects, from the simple to full scratch efforts.
So what have some of you been working on but not chimed in yet?
Locoracer Tom handed me a Fly Porsche to go with one I had in the abyss. Looks like another project, just a double shot!

I'm working on a Fly Renault Turbo 5. Ordered all the goodies for it but forgot to order a spur gear. It ain't goin' anywhere without that gear. I like the design of this car as it is a sidewinder. It should handle good for a small car. :)

Just finished up a Monogram 65 Barracuda on a sebring chassis, three Shotgun and one RMS resins on deck and were spying some SRP bodies already :violence-smack: It never seems to end. By the way is Mark still making 1/32 wheel inserts I haven't contacted him yet going to need more drivers too and there is no sense in ordering a bunch of small parts alone might as will get another body to through them during shipping  . I might finish some day :violin:

I finished tuning up the Slotwings 512BB last night and got it running really nice. Also broke out all of the Slot It group C cars and will be getting them ready for H&R Hawk motors. Not much extra $$ to buy new cars right now so I am getting out cars that need tuning and enjoying them as a new car when finished.

We ran a lot of Fly, Ninco, Scaley and GBTrack cars on this old track I restored, and I have been getting a lot of old friends out to run for the first time in many years. Our favorites on this track were NC-1 cars. We had an open meet that was all NC-1 once. You could do anything you wanted to any car, as long as it had an NC-1 in it. Everything from hot rods to Le Mans Prototypes and more showed up, and they all ran just about the same. Hours and hours went by, just running the cars before the race. Nearly everyone brought more than one car. I built five, and I still have them. When I have run everything else, those five are going to come out.

I just came home with enough MDF to build a 5 X 11 oval, looks like me and the router will take the plunge :violence-chainsaw:

(comes with 10+ cars running 4 lanes flat out). Adding around 25' of more track for tonites big oval race. Maybe pull the 1.1 motor in the Camaro dirt track oval car for a refreshing. Have a good weekend guys!

Just a follow up to what I said above, I have discovered that there are a lot of cars that I picked up long after they came out to "fill in" holes in the herd. I discovered today that there are lots of cars that never got the "Fly Fix" treatment. What a joy to get geared up for that again! I did a 917 today in- start to finish- 7 minutes flat. Runs like a silent little dream car. I wish I could include a recording of it running, but you couldn't hear it! Stock gears, tires, wheels, etc. But I used a solid front axle. That's it. I polished the gears with Tamiya coarse compound, used the Tire Razor on the wheels and tires (yes, the old stock Fly tires!), oiled it and put it on the track. More quiet than my Slot. Its and handles much better in the esses. A fantastic car.
One thing... I don't have any Fly cars that have a black endbell that I know of, and that is what this car has. Is it a newer motor or older?

Currently trying to decide between an FPF Spridget or a Matchbox MGTC static conversion for proposed Euro/Britsport roadster proxy. Or should I play safe and get in another MGA? Decisions. Decisions. Argh!

Build the Spridget. Challenge yourself :)
Rob, I think they started the black endbell in 2010.
Just passed up on adding more to the list and just ordered parts. I still have 2 more cars I want this year if they arrive in time, otherwise it is getting these older models up to speed.
Have a fun race to get ready for in Dec. Heading to HRW Jim's for a fun day of racing, and I need to have my junk ready. Hoping for 2nd place finishes in all classes.
Fun stuff.

Searching shelves yesterday, I realised I've got quite a lot of static kits that would be suitable. Fairladies, S600, MGs and a Herald. Might use the MGB one because it's the most readily replaceable.

I don't know if PP do 15" wires. You can get plenty of resin insert "wires". Minilites or steels are another possibility.
