I like this Cougar..



I saw the actual car this past September.. you could tell the guy had a ton of money in to the motor.
All the TA cars sounded great, but this Cougar just screamed.. hard to describe it in words but you
knew this car was coming before you could see it..very distinctive high revving roar..

They mean business. VW vans, Bentley Continental, all the Historic F1's, more T/A, Rally cars, and, and …just wow. I've already heard/read that SRC is doing my 914/6 in 2014, couple that with the many 'I wants' from Scaley it makes me afraid to see what Carrera, Slot.it, SCX, the Racer brands, etc are going to announce for next year.

Holy Cow This is gonna get pricey, it looks like scaley are back on their game. :banana-dance:

They're also doing a Maserati Gran Turismo, and that's a hottie. According to James Earl Jones, it's Totes McGotes.

And with the Tyrrell and Lotus, I might be buying more Scaley than I have in many years.

Ouch! For the first time in a while, Scalextric looks like they are really going after most of my wallet - I can see several T/A cars (and adding a few numbers on that Panther Pink Challenger will do as a Fantasy T/A!) that will come home - but the vintage GP! Holy cow am I going to have to spend a mint! I'm over the moon on all of those offerings and have to get them all!

All computer renderings.........nothing more. After the year they had in '13, I
doubt '14 will end any better. Sacley has been on a down slide for a few years
now and the '14 releases look just too ambitious for a turn around.

Sorry but as they say....A car in the hand is worth two in the catalog....

I agree on that part. It does not bother me about the 69 Camaro, at least I know I can buy it from my local dealer.

But I think 2013 will end in a positive note for Scaley with the Cougar and Challenger Trans-Am cars. Yes, they butchered a classic Dodge but they did have some other nice offerings this year in the repaint departments. And although they need work for my taste, these new livery models hooked me back into their Trans-Am/SCCA series.

As for the rest of the cars, yes time will tell. I have to think that they will do a good job on the cars if they follow through. The other vintage F-1 models are some of the nicest slot cars they ever tooled up in my opinion and can be tuned for a smooth slot-fight easy enough.

I am optimistic as usual. You are dead on about them sliding down that old hill...I just hope these latest T/A cars give them enough steam to get back up.

I agree, Harry, right down the line. In 2013, Scalextric made a whole series of poor decisions, and those poor decisions seemed to hamper them all year. I mean, if you're not getting the revenue you'd expect, it's hard to dig out and do all the things you intended to do. But once you get yourself in a new budget cycle and some new focus on what's important, and there's no telling what could happen. This looks like a successful catalog to me, with several big winners in the lineup.

Let's see what happens!
