Christmas Projects?

Some of you might have a few extra days off. I took some extra time like usual to get around to those projects that somehow fall to the wayside.

New Plymouth project is on the bench thanks to HRW Jim. Chassis is finished, just working out the body details and wheels.

RMS Maverick! Back to work on this one. Making a new chassis and not sure how it will turn out yet. I seem to always try different approaches just to see how they work out.

Then there is the Scalextric Cougar and Challenger coming, which of course will take some time to "inspect" :)

So do you have any special projects to work on?

Having turned three dozen candlesticks on the lathe, I'm painting them now, 6 colors each, then glazing with copper or gold and lacquering. Who knew 36 was such a big number?

I love these bodies. I grab them up every time I find one for reasonable price. These cars were the meat and potatoes of American automobile racing for years. I was originally going to build a mate for the circle track Camaro that Mark put out awhile back. But it morphed into this one which is more like a home grown IMSA GTO that were run back in the day. I have two more of the Camaro Snaptite kits and a Firebird kit of the same vintage. I will likely do the Firebird after this one is done. I still need to build that roundy rounder though.

I'm working on another Mini, but have been slowed down a bit with my sore shoulder. So easy does for a few days. It's supposed to rain like the dickens this Saturday, hope not. :)

Cars are on hold for a while, although I have a couple of SCX WRP candidates sitting on the bench for blueprinting.

I have to get a big diorama box done and in the mail to Switerland by January 3. Then get stuck into a 2' square photo set for someone else. Good thing that drying times aren't a problem in this weather.

I've got 2 Arii 71' Skylines to finish up (the KPGC 10 and a 2000 GT-R) . I've got the body mounts made and epoxied in, next I'll fit the donor Carrera Capri interior in (also the chassis I'm using), then it's off to the paint booth for my favorite livery. Hopefully they will get their Holiday photos and the first laps by new years day.

Going to be working pretty much through the holidays but am working on a gift for my great nephew. He is 7 this year and I gave him all of my old Tyco HO stuff 2 years ago. That lives at his Grandma's house so I picked up a small, used SCX 1/43 set (DTM) on the 'bay and got a couple of new NASCARS from The Gunny (Bill Plude). I'm going to mount the track to a board that can slide under a bed or behind a door (they live in a small condo). I figure if I keep it up I'll have him a member of HRW, eventually!

To start doing more work on my track I have not touched it for about 3 months other things have been going on in my life & also to find the right slot car for our first Grandchild Angus
he will be nearly 6 weeks old by Christmas Day , hope he likes it
