...I completely forgot I'd also gotten the Slot.it McLaren M8! I went downstairs this morning and there it was - still in the box wrapped up in bubble wrap. It looked rather sad, so I opened it up (it is Christmas after all!) and got to play for a few minutes. I just pretended I got it for Christmas.
VERY nice car! Needs tires on my track, but wow is it quiet and smooth!!!

David,
Which one of the McLarens did you get?
Prior to surgery I had ordered two of the "white kits". Lots of parts to make multiple versions of the M8.
ModlerBob has posted an M8A he has built from this kit.
Since I am on a very short leash, at least for 3 more weeks, I have been doing lots of research. There are so many variants of the M8 - both McLaren and Trojan produced them - I think we shall see some very creative "kitbashing" of the "white kit" in the coming months.

I ran Harry's while he was here and really want this car. Interesting about the many liveries. I hope that means that Slot It will take full advantage of the mold. JIm PS I will have to look at Bob's on the other thread.

It is a great slot car. The recently tuned 00 GT40 is perfect match for it.

Good ol' Slot.it. They really are turning into a consistent, great name in slot cars.

I had a chance to do some tinkering with mine. Turns out mine had a wonky rear wheel, so I replaced that. Glued and trued a set of 1403RC Supertires, and trued the front tires as well. Set the front axle height with setscrews, and onto the SCC store track. Within a short time, I was getting laptimes of 6.5 to 6.6 (track record is low 6.0), so a very good runner. Alas, that's too fast for the class (7.2 breakout), so looks like I'll be needing a slower motor...
Still, it's a great little car. Thanks Slot.It!! :music-rockout:
