Can Dave Kennedy or any other Carrera friends enlighten us on when we will hear about their 2014 offerings, and better yet, what they might be?

I know them all. You mean you haven't heard? It is going to be one more great year...Oh...I'm not supposed to say anything. :)

I am sure things will start to leak out soon. Toy fair is just a few weeks away.

Especially the D124 cars - can't wait to see what's coming :banana-dance:

If you know someone in the Carrera Club, ask them. Many cars have already been listed, 132 and 124. Once that happened I figured it was no longer a secret.

Once the list is finalized, why do they keep it a secret at all? They could release the list now and have us all drooling over newly promised goodies, creating threads dedicated to the love of cars that have not yet even been released. Plus, it would allow us to earmark our hobby dollars for cars that we want and would then know are on the horizon, instead of settling for lesser models already either on the shelf or found on the preorder list. Considering that there are manufactures out there that announce cars, leave people sitting on their wallets, and even at times never release them, I would think that it is to Carrera's advantage to get this information out there.

And on the subject of the Carrera Club, why isn't that thing available to those of us under the Stars and Stripes? :flags-waveusa:

I did get permission to post about at least one piece of news for 2014 coming to the US.

yep its a long held Carrera tradition, no news till the show

a few years back when I had no computer I had to go to the local library and see the new stuff, that was the year they came out with the Willy's and hot rods, I squealed like a little girl, and everyone saw me :oops:

we got a new computer that year :laughing-rolling:

Thanks for humiliating me, Dave - just for that, you can forget me buying the 800 or so Carrera cars I normally buy each year :angry-tappingfoot:

I wasn't born on the board yesterday - I KNOW Carrera likes to announce their cars at the Toy Fair after the calendar year is half way over, but (a) I thought with Scalextric moving their announcement dates even earlier, that Carrera just MIGHT like to be a factor in the early planned (and evermore stretched, if you all are like me) 2014 budget of the average slot car enthusiast, and (b) I have heard NOTHING about when the Toy Fair is, and speculations on what will be there, any "buzz"...nothing. I assumed that Carrera had to close their China plants, and move production to England. When SCX beats you out of the gate in announcing 2014 offerings, no wonder people talk. MRRC may have a more aggressive marketing and production schedule than Carrera right now!

Dave, I know that the Germans may see us Yankee customers as the "red haired step children" (like do most of the slot manufacturers), but I haven't heard much from you lately, and just wanted you to "earn your keep" by rattling your cage now, because the silence has been deafening. I have raised the standard for Carrera in meeting the needs of the US slot racer (and American iron lover). For now, I will not be satisfied unless I see 10-20 vintage stockers announced for 2014 (USAC and ARCA okay as well as NASCAR, as long as it includes a Chevelle stocker (1959 Impala would be okay too) - and maybe an aero-warrior with an oversized nose on the front (they're in vogue now)), and some more 50s vintage sports cars like your old Maseratis and Aston Martin DB3s (a birdcage Maserati, OSCA and similar ilk would be good - maybe with baby Jesus in one of them), with at least three of the following four: Volvo P1800, PV544 or 122s, or Saab 96. Since Carrera's 2014 rollout is a LONG time away, I think they still have time to design, license and produce these cars for the year in case they haven't started yet (just trying to help you, since Scaley has announced 1000s of new models that everyone is drooling over).

So put that in your leiderhosen and smoke it, Dave! Any, even veiled, references to what is coming up for your loyal buddies here in the states?

Thanks for the prompt response, Mr. Kennedy (I assume you are the REAL Dave Kennedy - I once came across an imposter, to which I said, "I knew Dave Kennedy. He was a friend of mine. You're NO Dave Kennedy!"). I sent you a PM so we could have some covert discussions to decide the fate of the global slot car world.

Regarding the year being "half way over" by the time of the Toyfair, I was just "waxing poetic" - which is common amongst the erudite aristocrats that frequent this board. In "slot car time", it is late in the year - Scalextric might even have the rest of their 2013 offerings out on the market before Carrera announces their 2014 cars!

Since you refuse to give any hints regarding 2014 to those out here in the frontier wilderness of slot car racing, I will make a couple of IRONCLAD predictions concerning Carrera products in 2014:

1) The electromechanical components will be far more complex than before, with more diodes, wires, switches, and funky plates over the axles (in essence the German equivalent of the Manhattan Project), as well as tighter tolerances with the body and interior. Even the normal stub axles will have their own stub axles.
2) The prices of the Evolution cars will DROP DRAMATICALLY, and no longer be on par with the Racers, LMM and other "boutique" brands for the elites.

I promise I have not had a spy in Carrera headquarters to be able to make these bold new predictions (I make no promises concerning augury, however).
