What is your best 1/32 slot car out of the box that was purchased in 2013? Also, please note any little changes that you did to the car to get it running in the zone.
Best regards,
Brian

The best out of the box car that I had picked up last year was the Scalextric Lotus Evora:

I lubed it, lightly sanded the tires, and that's it. I run on Sport and I left the magnets in, so I don't know how it would fair on wood and magless, but on my track it's greased lightening.

I would have to say the Carrera DTM's.

Tire change is really all they "needed" for me. I did do some guide changes, but one is just tires and runs fine.

I have to say the Slot It 962 IMSA Coke and Lowenbrau cars. Perfect out of the box just swapped the motors out to the H&R Hawk.

For sure is this NSR Porsche 917. All had to do was your basic lube and loosen up some screws and it was on rails. Never even trued the tires.

Define best ? Best looker , fastest runner ?
For me best runner was an EVO4 NSR Mosler which with glueing and trueing of the tyres was up there at the front in my clubs Open class.
Best looker was the Lee Petty Plymouth Fury by Carrera that I got from an obscure model shop when there were none to be had elsewhere.
But today my Challenger arrived to go with the Cougar and they do make a pretty pair...........

Ok, maybe doesn't count because I didn't buy it but....

Just so much fun. Still contemplating a smaller motor, but it stops on a dime, barrels around corners and just behaves like a proper happy dog.

Scalextric Lotus Evora. The only change was to remove the magnet. Smooth, quite, well balanced.

I might add that the worst car was this one. One of a few cars that I haven't managed to get to run decently. Constructive suggestions would be much appreciated.

BBR Ferrari 430. These cars don't get much love but you could not ask for a better handling and quick GT car. I bought mine SUPER cheap on the 'bay and with PG tires and NOTHING else they are competitive (or better) with everything else in my GT arsenal.

A Scaley Cooper Climax. Put new tires on the back and it's the fastest thing I have. My buddies all call it 'the green bullet'.
Second best was a Monogram King Cobra. nearly as fast as the Cooper.

I have several candidates, the Carrera Aston Martin Vantage, the Arrow Saleen, the Slot.It McLaren M8D, but I think the best right out of the box was my Lowenbrau Porsche 962 by Slot.It

The best out of the box for me was the Racer Lancia group 5 car. All I did was lube it up and ran it, never even changed rear tires on it. My other was an assemble it yourself Fly racing version Ferrari F40 all it needed was a pair of PG's on the rear, fast smooth and very quiet. :)
