Nice work. That's a great car. I've got one unfinished around here that I need to build. Some day.... I'm interested in the scenery around your track too. What did you use for grass? Looks very life-like. And that brick wall is cool too. Is it cast? Resin? Plaster?

thanks
photos were a couple of quickies with my phone -
I could build a ton of those can-am cars something about them
Fast Co - my track build thread is here
viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1798(skip to the end for more on the scenery) but a quick answer:
the grass is 6mm static grass applied with a static grass applicator - makes it stand up on end.
the wall is balsa wood coated in white glue and then sand. I then cut grooves for the blocks and covered the top with joint compound which is a premixed plaster. When it was semi dried I used a knife to put grooves in it,
and the track surface is a suede textured paint it offers really good grip, once all the scenery is done it will get a touch up coat.

I also have one of these kits, and it is excellent.

I watched the real car at Mid-Ohio in 1969 and it was impressive. Where we were at the track was when the car was in its mid range power curve and it appeared to catch the Chevies on that little piece of straight. If I remember correctly it finished 3rd. It did not have the wing. Supposedly that was the biggest Ferrari V12 made.
Your car brought back memories.

David - one of the best builds of the 612 I have seen yet! VERY nice job. I really like the rear posts. I'm now to the point of not doing kits this way and would rather the builder just use brass or another material as you've done. Much more realistic, especially the way you tied it into the roll bar.
AWESOME track as well!!!

I like the way you did the fender wells - that's clever!
