Like the Jag, but the price has basically doubled in 10 years. Can't justify.

NINETY DOLLARS for the new Jaguar XK120 made from the same molds that produced the $35 car just 9 years ago? And by the way, the original had the best motor they ever produced and much better quality control than the last 5 years or so.
No wonder the twits have priced themselves out of the market. Boycott them. Force the price down by 50%. How's that sound? There's more of us than there are silly collectors who will pay anything for anything. There's obviously plenty of profit in that car at $45. That goes for the Go-Karts, too.
Yes, I know... I have gone too far, however true what I typed is. Its okay. I submit to the censoring inherent to our way of doing things, and that's okay. But some of you will see this before its gone...

I bet the Jag will come with the full windscreen too instead of the Brooklands that are shown. Like others, I'd love to have it but not for $89. That's just insane.

I'd rather have 3 new Carrera cars at approximately $35 each instead of one ninco for $90 new.
Sorry Ninco I just don't see why your cars cost three times the cost of a new Carrera but don't perform any better?
I don't have any ninco cars in my collection currently of over 100 cars or so and I don't see any in my future either, Sorry you will not get any of my hard earned cash any time soon......

Wow. I just can't understand the pricing. I'm tired of flogging this dead horse, but seriously...I just can't look at them new anymore.

It's rather an unusual situation when I'm paying a smaller price for something than you lot are. I do have a few Ninco cars and have found them very good with only a little bit of tuning.
My first Ninco, an Ecosse edition XK120 powered by an NC8 motor, was purchased at full RRP of AUD 80 4 or 5 years ago. Brilliant car. I've since been lucky enough to pick up a few Nincos at discounted prices. But the new Jag is listed at Armchair racer as AUD 79.00. So, in 4 or 5 years the prices have not changed. Any price jump was certainly before my slot car addiction.
What I can confirm is that the XK120 does have the standard windscreen and is powered by an NC5.
Where I have a whinge with Ninco is the same one as many others have voiced in the past. Their motor selection for their models. It would be nice had they continued with their original tendancy to use a motor that suits the style of the model. Particularly as the after market Ninco motors are now retailing at AUD 30!!

Here is a real photo of the car..... a lovely car but not at $90USD which would translate to about $100AUD.

Even I find Armchair expensive and I picked this up for aroun $60USD delivered.
I'll agree with Ember that these Ninco classics have always been expensive in Australia, I suspect that when these were $35USD the greenback was far stronger than what it is today.

I blame no one for jumping off of the Ninco ship before it sinks.
:angry-soapbox:
Until very recently, I wanted all of my cars to run like Ninco Classics. They are fun and look neat on the track, plus are easy to break down, strip, and repaint. But then I discovered that by taking a Carrera and dropping in an MT-1, I could make a car that was even smoother, just as much fun to drive, and cost half of what the Ninco does. I've changed my tune.
That new Jag particularly sealed the deal for me. When those initial photos came out a couple of months back, I was excited. "Oh boy, a Jag based on an historic race car instead of a recently restored car." But then I saw the production model- full windscreen, decals instead of detailing, fifty-billion CC engine equivalent, and finally the price-point.
As long as Pendles offers those motorless numbers begging for repaints, I see no reason to buy anything new from Ninco outside of their splendid tires. And once those Pendles cars are gone, there are plenty of resin versions, some that even look more accurate than Ninco's bulbous copy of the XK120.

Hey Goose. I didn't know they were still doing that. I thought it was a one time thing. I'll have to go look at that from time to time.

I'll just do what I normally do, wait for them to go on sale somewhere. I got 2 of the 356 Porsches for $98 a while back which I didn't think was too bad. A straight out $90 for a car with plastic wheels just doesn't cut it for me. I would sooner spend it on an NSR or another Slot It., or Pioneer. :)
