Trans-Am is on the menu tonight!

Following my normal tuning process, these three are next up. I discovered one has a crack in the motor mount, but considering it has about a billion miles on it, I'll forgive it and fix it.
Interiors and chassis are trimmed, bodies washed and PG Tires glued and trued. Can't wait for dinner to be over!

Oh, and yes I know that I just ruined a few hundred dollars in collectible cars - don't care!

Just curious, how I'll you fix the cracked chassis? I've had two mustang chassis crack at the same spot at the bottom of the motor mount.

Here's my fix: styrene outside and reinforced with some epoxy:

And finally - dessert! All done and these things are so smooth and fast!

I'm not a collector, so trust me, I have no problem doing this:

I used to look at a car I hadn't tuned yet and think, "I'll save that one and run the others." One evening out by the track enjoying myself immensely (because I am immense, after all), I thought that and said out loud, "That's just dumb!", and laughed at myself. Now I have a back log of cars- and I can go out and pick a couple to tune and have a great time whenever I want. Feels like FREEDOM! It feels so good to run a recently tuned car and hear the slick perfectly aligned gears, and the balance a little weight gives.

At the last TransAm race at Mark's Model World, one of the "new" guys raced a #6 Sunoco Camaro and everyone was "surprised " that he would be running that in the race. It was GREAT to see that livery out on the track!
I say run 'em! That is where the fun is! :D

I've gotten the same comment on cars, like the Australian version of the Bob Jane Camaro, "You're not gonna run that are you?" To which I set it on the track and ran a few laps with it. It's more fun to tune them and watch them do what they're intended to do than sit on a shelf in a box. By the way I have those cars too, and yes I run them. :)

I intend to have some "fun" with the boys at the track in the coming weeks - I just picked up a set of Patto's decals for the Australian Bob Jane Camaro(s) - I intend to paint up one to match and watch the reaction when I go to run it. Should be pretty entertaining as that car was brought up in conversation that night as to how much they are going for on eBay, etc. :)
Should be fun!
