Pattos is great , and ive purchased from there before. but the wait from Australia is 2 weeks or more...not good for me. Slotcars4u is closed now for a while and still overseas.
So who in the US is a dealer similar to these guys? im looking to redo my scaley 69 Camaro trans am in Penske/Donohue Sunoco livery. and maybe purchase other sets if I see something I like that will spark a project in me.
I don't think I missed anything when searching but I could be wrong.

For decal paper Testors works well, hobby shops and Hobby Lobby has it and they also sell online. You will also need decal bonder. Bel is another popular make.

This is a good request, I wish there was a local US decal person, although I might be able to help you. If you decide to tackle this yourself and print on your ink jet or laser printer, you will need to match the blue color of the body and have this as the background color on the decal sheet. If you use an Alps printer, you can print white on clear water transfer paper and don't need to worry about matching body color.
Printing the decals on water transfer paper is only half the battle, crafting the same exact typography, the small nuiances of hand lettering in the day and other subtle graphic catches also makes for a huge challenge to someone not customarially used to doing this. But, when done properly, the end result is as close to the real deal as possible. Think scale. Also, making sure they come out crystal clear and super high resolution at these super tiny sizes is another challenge on your inkjet. You just need to use the right tricks in your graphic bag :-) I just completed a set for the Trans-Am T. Adamowicz Porsche 911 and they came out great. As for crafting up the same exact look from 1968 on the 911, it also helps I'm an Art Director and have been designing for 20+ years.
I happen to have a signed postcard from Mark Donahue in his 1969 Camaro Trans-Am Sunoco sponsored race car. It is something that I remember getting and having him sign when my Dad took me there to his shop. I've kept it for all these years, maybe it was a sign I need to help you on this project?

Unfortunately, stocking decals is like parts, nobody wants what you have.

Well all I would really want is some different color meatballs and color numbers along with some modern and classic contingency decals and racing stripes and I'd be happy. I don't really care for stick on. Just plain old water slide. There used to be a couple c=vendors but they are gone now. Jim

If you have ever tried making really good decals, you would much better understand why there are so few people doing it. It's one thing to copy something from the net and print it. It's a whole different animal to make your own and have them the quality of something you would buy from a reputable mak er.a whole lotta time and trials to get a usable set.
I've tried the white decal paper before using a background color close to the body. Problem is when you. Ut thedecal from the sheet, you have a white outline all around the decal from the white paper that you then need to touch up.
There are a few ALPS groups on yahoo with a couple guys that do custom work.
