I am looking forward to getting this car. Thanks for the review.
Not a problem Bibbster. I'll just order two of them and put one on the shelf. This way it will become a "rare" car when you are ready to buy.

Very cool scheme. Me thinks you need to be smoking something to fully appreciate it

Well my Slot.It Led Zepplin arrived earlier today. I must say, it looks much better in my hand then it does in any photo I've seen thus far. It is a very good looking car.
I put a pair of Paul Gage 20115 rear tires on the car, after truing them of course. Since the car did not reach me until today, I had taken the chassis from one of my Slot.It white kits and prepped it to go under the Led Zeppling car. During the prep, I did the following:
Removed the front axle locator blocks and cleaned them up with some 1500 sandpaper. They now moved without seizing in the chassis.
Set the front ride height so the front tires lightly touch when the car is in the slot.
Put a 35 tooth lightweight spur gear on.
Set up a bit of float between the chassis and the motor pod.
Used some blue lock-tite on the screws of the motor pod - all 6 of them.
Once I had the front and rear tires true, I swapped out the wheels / tires from the Led Zepplin chassis to the chassis I had prepped for the car.
I will head out Sunday morning to do some testing and tuning on our MDF track at our club, but the testing I did this evening on my 4 lane 1:43 Carrera GO track said the car was very quick and super smooth. I like that!
More to follow.
