Well looks like Old Man Winter is not finished with some of us. Nasty cold fronts and severe weather forecasts for us as well as many of you.

So take care out there. Hide out in your slot-cave and try to have some fun.

Cleaning up around here and updating a lot of pages on the main site and the forum. Skunkworks needs more organizing and a new project for the MIDMO hopefully begins.

Our daughter made the cut into med school and we are going to try and celebrate. The General is taking her out to get pampered and I get to have "Papaw" time with the wee ones. Then a good steak and bratwurst grilling session. IF weather allows it that is.

Hope all have a safe and fun weekend.

Boss,

Well congrats on your daughter being accepted in to Med school.

I would just like to let both you and your daughter know that there truly is a light at the end of that long tunnel. My son just completed his journey in June of 2013 after 6 long years.

We did not get into freezing last night, but the electric blanket was set to 'stun'.

Looks like you have a lot on your plate and I'm NOT talking Slotburgers!

I'm expecting the weekend to be wiped out by rain, so I guess I have a lot of time for track progress. Unfortunately I'll need to paint, and only have a tiny room that can be temporarily dehumidified.

Our new solar panels have generated their first megawatt-hour and we're about 120kwh ahead net, so I have some free electricity to use. :)

I think I'll be relaxing at home this weekend, doing absolutely nothing and getting ready to go on a comparison-test trip next week.

Save the trip, Jenny- You're the best. You know it.

Big news about med school! Congratulations to her for all the hard work and excellence require to rise so far. Now, the back-breaking study sessions, mean profs, and snarky residents... She's going to need a lot of hugs before this is over!

You know Harry, I totally spaced out and forgot to mention congratulations on your daughter getting into med school. Our daughter is a junior in HS, three AP classes, focusing on biology. I don't think she has her sights set on med school, but keeps us on our toes.

Congratulations to your daughter! That's a great avenue to pursue in this day in age. She certainly will not be short of job opportunities.

I was going to play around with my new Carrera D124 set, cars, and various accessories, but I guess instead we'll spend the weekend getting ready for yet another round of 6+ inches of snow that is set to hit on Monday, a day that both my wife and I had taken off of work in order to tour various hobby and craft shops in celebration of her birthday. Nothing says "Happy Birthday" like shoveling until your back aches.

Congrats to your daughter on finishing up. Mine is in the midst of her education with 6 to 8 years left depending on how far she wants to go with her schooling. She is studying to be a bone cruncher.

As far as this weekend goes, we missed out on the ice from last night which was good but are under the gun tomorrow night with a major winter storm. I have some parishioners who heat their house with wood. The dad had surgery yesterday morning and his son was going to stock up wood for all three houses yesterday afternoon but he broke his hand working calves yesterday morning. Thankfully it was just his hand because cows can kill you if they don't like you messing with their calf. So I went out and hauled wood to the three houses so they should be set until the dad is able to cut again.

Now that I'm home, I plan on welding in the tranny cross member on the stock car and install my fuel cell and then start running my fuel line if I have enough time. After finishing my sermon, I need to work on taxes for a bit and then will hopefully finish wiring power to the different lanes on the track. I did get one lane going last night after going through all the wiring since it wasn't running. I bought 4 fuses and one was no good. After the lanes are all going, I need to paint the lanes and tape them before starting the fencing.

That should be enough to keep me busy.

:text-bravo:to your offspring, Harry!
Remember I said this: She will develop a very "unusual" sense of humor.

Me, I have to work 1330-2130 Saturday and Sunday plus the other half's 86 year old Mom is coming to stay with us during this next bout of heavy weather :?
Might have to hide in the basement with our outside dog and do some work on the "toys" :banana-dance:

Congratulations Harry on the achievement of your daughter. I hope she's as proud of her achievement as her ol' man is. :)

His Lordship is in Fire Brigade mode today. Flipping burgers at a farm clearance sale this morning, the doing some roadside clearance burns this afternoon. Along the main highway, so that'll be fun for him. Meanwhile, I'm trying to catch up on a million things I've got to finish. Waiting on some deliveries for the diorama I'm supposed to be working on. So a little stuck there. I suppose I should work on other things that will be 'set dressing,' painting drums and other assorted factory leavings.

Just got a ARII kit of a Nissan Fairlady, a.k.a. 240/ 280Z, in today's mail. Will be looking her over and rummaging through my junk drawers to see what kind of parts I might find for use under her.
