I also thought the rear end looked too low and I did pretty much the same as you. So, at least your not alone.

The nose looks too high to me.

The nose is high, the back is a touch too low and not rounded enough over the wheel arch, and it shows too much of the 'flying buttress'. The effect is kind of awkward, but not bad if you lower the nose a bit.

I forgot to mention that after making similar modifications mine runs a lot better now too.

Two thumbs up!

Pretty to look at and great runner! What is not to like?

Had the car at the track last night and it is beautifully smooth, handles like a dream and is plenty fast enough in a straight line. I keep track of best lap times of all my cars (well, I am up to recording lap times for 85% of my cars!). When I take a new car to the track I "guesstimate" what lap time it will do. Glad to say I underestimated the performance potential of this one. Make that "badly underestimated"! Over time I have been able to get a pretty good feel for what to expect, even without having ever run a car. I can generally get to within 1 - 2 tenths of a second of the actual result.

For the 907 I estimated a best lap of 8.3 seconds: did an actual of 7.923! Pretty darned quick! To put this in perspective: it is like a quarter of a second quicker than my Slot.it Jaguar XJR12 and just a hair slower than my Slot.it Lola B08. Hhmm, note to self: have to do some work on those two!

And it is not just the fact that it is quick that is so nice: it is the on track behaviour that really is the icing on the cake. It really is very, very smooth, super grippy and tremendously easy to drive.

And yes I do realise that by adding in a Slot.it axle and gear and BWA wheels at the rear end I i) escalated the price quite a bit and ii) significantly upgraded the car.

But still. I did not even add a gram of weight to it!

10/10 for SRC!
