Are these cars similar in speed etc to the Scaleys I buy for around $50 each ?
I am considering purchasing them so when my niece's and nephews are in town they can run them.

The Scalextric Start cars run as good as any Scalextric cars that you can buy - in my opinion.

Once you go through the car and clear up the loose bushing fit in the rear, set the magnet (if you use them) to be the same as your other cars and then just run them, you will be surprised just how good they work.

ModlerBob and I have been running the Scalextric "GT" (which to me are LMP cars), the Scalextric "Pro" (which to me are GT cars) and the Scalextric Formula 1 cars.

Our favorite is the Scalextric "LMP" cars. They run very well, drive well and are easy to make look different from other cars in the mix.

For about $23 per car, they are a bargain.

Last month while on my way to Daytona Beach I stopped at a hobby store(suggested by Bob) owned by Greg in Daytona.
I picked up 2 Scaleys there,
Also....I am in the planning stages of building my very own, one of a kind, wood track. YUPPERS !
I have an area of about 10x 5 . I believe I will use 1/2' MDF. I still need to move many items in the rafters of my basement so that I can install a ceiling to brighten up the area.

I'll second the positive response about the baby Scaleys. They are a lot of fun, worth the money and then some, and very paintable. And as they say in Chicago, they run like stink!
