gilbert 40? coupe

anyone on here ever build a slot using the gilbert hot rod body? are they anywhere near scale? (1/32)

I have one; like many other Projects I have not done anything with it or measured it, but if I had to guess I would say closer to 1/35!

So it's smallish like the pyro,lindberg bodys?

I built this a while back and it sits on an artin chassis. As the foto shows I widened it by 1/4 inch. Hope this helps.

Yes that helped a lot! very nice car you have there! i bet it was a lot of work to widen the whole body,and have it look that good when finished. i have one of those bodies,if i want it,but its three states away,and not where i can put eyes or calipers on it.thought i would check here first,always the best advise from this group.

A.C. Gilbert cars were "O" gauge, 1/48th. I had a few of the '40 Fords back in the '60s. Pyro cars were a little bigger.
