Well another week in the books. Been a busy time down here putting the old Skunkworks back in order. Still needs attention here and there but fully operational and ready for guests.
Next week is vacation time. Little more organizing to be done outside of the weather would cooperate.
New projects keep coming up too. Doing some long overdue work on the old Show-Me. Just some controllers and a little driver station upgrade.
Tonight The General and I head up to Jefferson City for a little shopping. Yes, that means Hobby Lobby has the 40% coupon going so I can buy more model kits I don't need. :) But also Westlake hardware called and informed me they re-stocked K&S brass :)
Hope all of you had a great week and hopefully you get some slot racing time.

Yep, it has come down to crunch time.
I have an Avant Slot Mirage and a Sideways Lancia "Fruit of the Loom" car on order.
Racing day is Sunday, so when the mailman comes by, it's going to be "crunch time" getting them prepped for race day.

Kurt's visiting tonight, and then this weekend I'll be getting caught up on chores that I've neglected all week and getting my Avenger running again.

Girlfriend's mother heads back home tonight, so the test track goes back up. I need to finish nailing down the copper tape in the curves and solder permanent power taps.

This weekend is the big move- All my writing studio stuff is moving into the house, and as soon as it is set up, I'm going back to work. It will take a year or so of practice and ruthless editing to retrain myself for being even half-way skilled as I once was but I have made the decision.
In other news, the alligators came today for the track scenery. Two full sized, one adolescent and one baby. Now if I can find a resin 1/32 brown pelican, I'm on the way! With the alligators here, I can start the beer joint, the moonshine still, and other goodies.

Rob, have a look for Britains farm/zoo animals. They do a white pelican which you might be able to use as a starting point for a brown.
Actually got to spend a few hours racing last night. First time in ages. But back to work on the factory today.

Nice try folks and I thank you, but the one pelican there is 1/10 scale (9cm tall). I can carve him if needed. He'll be on a thin wire flying low over the water with a fish in his mouth pouch.

I haven't touched anything slot car related the last couple of weeks. Then with all the rain I had a small leak in the basement, but in an area where it has never leaked before, which I thought was a bit strange. It wasn't bad as it was confined to the corner by the washer and dryer. It's probably dry there today, and all the water went right in the sump. All in all a quiet week. :)

Doing some spring chores and getting ready for a backpacking trip to a friends cabin up on the Lost Coast next week. I am gearing up to build a magracing oval track and convert my Magsteer cars over to left hand roundy rounders.

I need some Gator bites now...
Had the boys over for the last race night at this location. The PDR dis-assembly starts tomorrow night :( I have one more guest - a neighbor of my dad's has a 9 year old that he told about the track and he's coming to see and race on it tomorrow afternoon. I guess that will be the LAST official race at this location!
Held a garage sale today and sold a ton of stuff - don't have to move that! Memo to self: don't have a cold and stand in a cool garage for 8 hours...that sucked!
The good news - I'm going to visit Lee in a week! I get a day of racing with him due to my business trip this coming week! Woohoo!
