I just purchased the Todco TransAm Camaro and I was disappointed to find that the guide holder was one of the older types. I experienced a lot of problems trying to fit a Bnova adapter into the guide hole so that I could use a Slot.It CH-85 guide and, in the end, wound up reaming it out with the next larger drill bit and filing the sides of the Bnova guide, in order to get a good tight fit. I messaged Brian about it on another forum and he answered back that the Todco car is a relatively new release off an old chassis mold.

So, since I don't want to have to deal with the older type of guide holder again; and I need another TransAm Camaro for an upcoming race series, I wanted to ask: which of the Scalextric Camaros have the newer guide holder; like the one that comes on the blue Petersen Camaro? If I know ahead of time, then at least I should have an easier time with using a Slot.it guide via the Bnova adapter. Thanks.

Yes, it does. The Mustang has the older one that gave me problems with the fitment of the Bnova Scalextric to Slot.It guide adapter.

The Petersen '69 Camaro also has the new guide holder.

Anyone know about the others? I ask because the Todco Camaro (which has the old style guide holder) is also a "69. So you can't go just by the year.

The Peterson is the newest and only release with the new guide - there is another one "coming" later in the year according to the Scalextric site.
If you are just looking at TransAm series cars though - the new Cougar and Challenger both come with the new style guide as an alternate. :)

Sorry - I should have been clearer - the Peterson is the only '69 Camaro with the new style guide at this time. As Harry noted, the '70 Camaros have the new style guide, as do the Cougar and Challenger.
