I may have a chance tonight to play around with some guys here on Long Island on a LARGE Scalextric Digital "Indy" shaped (rectangular) oval.
Two lanes w/six cars. We will be using Trans Am or older NASCAR type stock cars provided by the track owner.
This should be interesting, as I'm pretty old school and like running 4 to 8 lane tracks with round robin lane rotation.
As I said, they're providing the cars, so I'm game! I told these guys a while ago that I'm not interested in investing money into this 1/32 digital stuff
(yeah, we've all heard that one before!), but I'll come down and play a different type of "table top racing game" for fun once in a while!
We'll see if this happens tonight... Ernie

Big E.....I have the same problem , but in reverse...lol...I have a Carrera Digital 80ft road course and the club I joined is all wood tracks . Thanks to all these guys I can go abuse their cars and have a blast . I am slowly bringing the WOOD guys over to Digital so they are paying me back by using my cars . So now I'm in a pickle trying to build cars for the wood tracks and I am enjoying the heck out of it . Who would have thought that getting back into slots after not touching them for almost 50 years would be such a gas . Thanks to all you guys on the forum for all the info and support . I hope the breaking of that CHERRY is fun and pain free ... :banana-dance: :banana-dance:

We run Carrera digital and have a good time. I think at first with new drivers it caused a lot of crashes because it takes a while to realize someone else is in your lane. We are getting more used to it and it has become a real challenge to try and work through traffic or stay ahead of guys charging from the back.
I know a lot of folks do not like the digital stuff, and I can understand why. Running your car as fast as you can and trying to stay on track takes a lot of focus. Running the same way but now with numerous other cars all over the place takes even more focus and sometimes it can get frantic. Maybe too frantic.
Have fun and if you can post an after action report with your impression.

Ditto, So Did you have a blast?
It looks like great fun. I could see a bit of carnage happening on the lane change. But no more I suppose than a squeeze section.

I hope you had a great time! I've found that the oval is the least enjoyable form for digital racing. Using Carrera's R1(Scaley R2) gives you some opportunity to lane change and pass, but not as many as a road course with variable radii turns.
