TGI T? Happy 4th of July Weekend

Postby HomeRacingWorld » Thu Jul 03, 2014 6:43 am

For many of us it's the end of an early week. I am sure many will be out and about this weekend having fun (I hope).

Have many projects on my bench and time to get started. Going to try and make multiple chassis for this one so it will be a challenge.

Hope all of you have a great weekend with your friends and family. If you are out and about and possibly near old HRW here in beautiful uptown/downtown Dixon, MO...drop me a line and let's race :)

And for some of us "retired" folks, it's just another week! :text-thankyouyellow:

Here in Florida we are watching "Arthur" leave our state's coastal area now that it has gone from a Tropical Depression to a Tropical Storm to a Cat 1 Hurricane. We had some rain along the coast yesterday and further north in Florida, it lasted all night and into this morning.

Arthur is heading north, perhaps to visit the northeast once again.

But that means we will have some nice, non humid weather for a couple of days. A big storm like that tends to draw the moisture out of the air and make it comfortable here in Florida.

Saturday is a Slot Car Show & Swap Meet along with The Coke Zero 400, aka Firecracker 400. It's gonna be a nice weekend.

Hope y'all have a super Independence Day weekend.

We're leaving this morning to visit our eldest daughter in San Francisco and my wife's parents in Silicon Valley. After that it is a driving/ car camping trip up the Oregon Coast. Don't know exactly where we will end up but that is my favorite way to travel :auto-driving:

I plan on finishing up my driver/sanding stations and start planning for scenery on the track. Other than that just tuning some cars and running laps.

Hope everyone has a great 4th and be safe if you are out on the roads. :flags-waveusa:

Well, I get to work 16 hours tomorrow.....we are the tallest building in Ft Wayne so they shoot the fireworks from our roof. As a result all of Security has to be there (explosives in the building, etc). They are having a cookout for us while we are there and I am off Sat & Sun ("honey dos" continue).

What a week!

Going to the Independence Day Parade in Monument and party hopping to two parties. The last one is our future in-laws. Yep! The LT. is engaged as of last week! His fiance is a great young lady and their family lives on our old street. Her family is awesome and we were really blessed.

Saturday I'm putting up the Sun Sail on the deck and grilling something - anything. I've used the grill 8 nights in the past 10. I can't stop!

I've got another round of light sanding on the track and then to paint!

I hope you folk all have a wonderful and safe long weekend of celebrating.

Get to play Evil Stepmother for the next week. His Lordship's youngest son and girlfriend are staying for the week (Oh joy!). So, no toyroom for me for the next 9 days as it becomes a bedroom.

Hoping my battles with Council can finish early next week so I can put the kids to work on some painting and decorating on the new business premises.

Having all daughters over and their significant others. Then going to the neighbors in the evening to have a few cold ones and shoot off a few fire works. The nieborhood really gets into the 4th, it's crazy. looking forward to the day off and grilling. Have a safe and happy 4th all. Jim
