Do you folks race modern LMP much? I have a pair of them that just sit here most times. I think the last time I raced them was the Spring Fun Run and Cagee whipped me as usual.

Now that is cool. Have seen some scratch builds done with pulley's and o-rings. Like the toothed belt. Slick.

I remember a friend of mine telling me these were coming out but I still find it hard to believe there would be a performance edge in AWD, other than WRC but who can argue with Audi? They made it work at Le Mans and I'm sure the fine people at Slot.it know what they're doing. My guess would be an application on tracks that don't have much grip and being able to add more horsepower as the system will need it. One way bearings....wow! What will these guys come up with next? This is incredible thinking or to quote Harry "times are good!" We race LMP here in the PNW a few times a year as an open class event and find that the leading edge cars from all the major manufacturers are competitive. Slot.it may have just comne up with the 'edge'.

Maurizio and his team ran the prototype in the Slot it oxigen 24 hr race in europe about 2 months ago and it finished the race and placed in the top half of the field. And then he started making improvements.
For me, I will get one just because of the new technology used.

How do you get the pod to float and not bind up with the tension on the belt? Should be interesting and easy doing back to back tests with 4wd and 2wd. Awiat the results with interest.

Our lack of a current LMP racing program in no way restricts my enjoyment of LMP cars. I have a few of them and I spend time making them better and better.

I see that Slot.It has a line of LMP1 and LMP2 cars coming out over the remainder of 2014. They are the:
• AUDI R18 E-TRON QUATTRO
• AUDI R8 LMP
• LOLA ASTON MARTIN DBR1-2

When I read the note at the bottom of the above advertisement, "The Slot.It 4WD system can be used on any Slot.It Audi R18 equipped with CA24T-60B chassis" I started to think about ordering the appropriate parts and converting my current Audi R18. I mean how many Audi R18 does one person need? But I soon won the argument and will purchase the ready to run version when it comes out. Those front wheels, equipped with the one way bushing might prove to be very interesting. We can equip our other slot cars with independently rotating front wheels by retrofitting with the new parts. So I am waiting with baited breath for this car.

Besides, I would love to see just how well this 4WD system works. How about you?

The Audi R8 LMP is a car that I've been waiting for Slot.It to make for a long, long time. The open cockpit prototype cars are something I have always loved. So I will simply have to own one of them.
