Project: Old meets new

I have been trying to find one of these older Scaley Ferrari 308 GTO's for awhile now. Finally got a good deal on one on Ebay from the U.K. Its a fun project car just to see how well I can get a older car to run with the parts available to us today. Planning on Slot It gears and guide, CB Design 5 spokes with PG tires, M/T-1 or Hawk motor and some fresh paint. It came with a set of new spare side mirrors. The chassis is a tub design that mates with the body so may need to try and modify that too if possible. Got it soaking now to see how well it cleans up but everything is intact nothing cracked or broken.

Rob, this one doesn't have working brake lights or any for that matter. I don't remember that one?

I have an old Porsche 962 and that Jaguar XJ220c I did recently, both old production, both with bright realistic tailights and brake lights. The guide, the way the belly pan is done and the way the tailights are done look a lot like your Ferrari. I just wondered. The 962 has a peculiar feature that allows it to spin 360 degrees, or better, 180 degrees which makes the guys on either side of you drop their socks when you spin around aned come back at them. Scaley has tried some wild ones over the years.

Hi Guys
I believe the brake/running lights were on the mid nineties Scalextric Ferrari F40's , I think I have about 10 different ones
they are really great because when you are running, the amber running lights are on and when you take your finger off the throttle
to brake for the corner, the condenser circuit knows to discharge and the red brake lights flash, pretty cool!
I'm hoping to get some time and install that circuit on a newer model, perhaps a different brand.

Lee, that looks like a good candidate for a Slot It. pod. I did one of the older Jag's a while back, came out good. I can't remember if I have ran it or not. May have to find it and take another look. :)

Ken if you find it post a pic of the chassis. I'm thinking that is the route I will take with this too.
