It's looking like I'll be displaying the Lime Rock Park building my Dad made there at the track on the historic racing festival weekend..
Sir Stirling Moss in the guest of honor this year, so I'd like to display a few of his cars with the building..
I've got the '55 LeMans set coming that has the Benz he shared with Fangio for that ill fated race.. but I'd really
like to find a few more..
Can anyone point out some I could be on the lookout for? or does anyone have one to sell.. Used is fine, just want the
display to look good with appropriate cars..
Thanks!

Congratulations. There are plenty of Stirling Moss slots around, although I think this one is the only one that I have in my collection.

The back of that car is all wrong embs. On the original the boot area was a lot more compact. :D
A real pity as they qualified 10th for the race and Jack was right on the pace. Stirling was a bit off, but he'd been out of racing for about 15 years, and he ended up reving the shite out of the motor to finally kill the car. A pity. They would have pushed for a top 5 position I think.

Yeah... it got it's length somewhat adjusted on the line when it failed to start.

Apparently reverse and first gears would get stuck quite regularly on those early L34 gearboxes. Every Torana driver knew about it....apparently no one told Jack about it. Prior to the start of the race the driver would select fist gear, press the clutch and get one of the mechanics to see if he could push the car. Couldnt push it, then you had reverse and first selected at the same time.

That was kind of the idea John. Remind him he didn't always get things right. :D Sir Stirling does have rather a sense of mischief. I think he'd probably have a chuckle.

I think Stirling would get a kick out of the Torrie. The story goes that Stirling had been out of racing for a while by that stage and the team was discussing who should start the race. Stirling was all too happy for Black Jack to start the race as he didnt want to stuff it up. He got his wish as it was Jack that cocked it up at the start. Pity. They were in with a chance for a top finish.
I think the Torrie would be a good selection, as it would bring back fond memories of his time with Jack...even if the race was a disaster.

There are quite a few Moss cars around. As far as that '55 Le Mans set that you have on the way, I hate to have to tell you this but it's modeled with Fangio driving, not Stirling.
Stirling Moss was the driver behind the wheel of the stand-alone Le Mans car: (note white helmet)

He was also celebrated in the Scalextric "722" set that referenced his win at the '55 Mille Miglia: (Carrera also made this car)

When it comes to Grand Prix, Scalextric produced his Vanwall:

Cartrix also made his BRM and Mercedes.
And if you don't mind the larger scale, Carrera produce his Tourist Trophy winning '61 Ferrari SWB in 1/24:

If you're interested in Moss-related cars, Scalextric modeled his green Ferrari 250 GTO that he never drove. The factory made it for him but an accident prevented him from running it. That's about all that come to mind. Good luck in your hunt!

Thanks to all for the replies. Mr. Goosenapper offered to sell me the 1/32 cars pictured above for a very fair price so I bought them. I'll be bringing them to Lime Rock at the end of the month.
Now to find a Sam Posey car other than the Challenger. :)

Hey, wait a second... I thought all of those old Aurora Thunderjet 500 HO slot cars belonged to Stirling Moss?
Funny how things seem when you're a kid, pouring over that blue Aurora manual every day... OK, I'm KIDDING!!
Maybe I can chase down Sir Stirling this year at Lime Rock Park and have him sign that piece of Aurora Model Motoring memorabilia
that Bob Beers and I carried all over Laguna Seca back in 2003. We couldn't catch up with him to save our lives!
He supposedly uses two wrist canes, and still eluded us two "healthy, younger" guys...
it's amazing how fast an old Grand Prix champion can get around in a golf cart! :>)
See ya @ LRP Labor Day weekend... Ernie
