Seems a lot of building is going on around here, fun times. Carrera is keeping me happy in the ready to run department and in between tuning them I have plenty of little customs to work on.
More on the way of course. Never have too many. Need to start cleaning this old place up. I get messy when I build!
Just another fun week down here in the old Skunkworks.
What about you folks? Any fun slot car plans this weekend?

Might go Ho racing at my friends slot shop locally tomorrow.
They just put in a second track.
Just cleaned off my 1/32 4 laner and was turning some laps.
My Ho 4 lane door track needs sceneried yet.
And I have a pile of various 1/32 scratch builds waiting for my attention also.
Have a MRI on Sunday afternoon to go to for my neck/back for a surgery I will have done shortly for a herniated disc.
Not looking forward to it and wish I was past it on the road to recovery already......

Oddly enough I have an oval track Falcon that has been started (it has been languishing for several months in the project box) which may get readied for the chassis.
If everything pans out I should be getting together with the SEMO guys for a little running.

Some time ago, I did a '40 Ford Coupe jalopy in 1/25 that was dull black with red and yellow steel wheels. I got a wild hair and decided to do the same car in 1/32, with rusty roof and trunk lid. I have so much done already, I'll probably finish it today. Its going to be quite a picture with both of them. If I ever find a 1/32 '56 Ford truck cab, I will make the truck that hauls it, too.

BRP32,
Fellow slotter and "mature person".
I had neck surgery back in May. At that time I was having issues with my arms, hands, fingers and thumbs. I would wake up and have to go through a checklist to see what was working and what wasn't. I lost feeling and the ability to use my arms, hands, fingers and thumbs. My doctor had suggested that I lay off using any power tools since I had limited feeling in both hands - from time to time. Did I listen? Hey, I'm a man and we have that "thing" going on all the time. I was using the Dremel one day and I lost feeling in my hand. The Dremel started heading the way gravity was pulling it and I saw the cutoff disc heading to the soft spot on my hands - the palm, so I just opened my hand and let it hit the floor. I picked it up - with the other hand - turned it off, set it on the bench and decided I better listen to the doc.
Since my surgery I have gotten back to building and have full use of my arms, hands, fingers and thumbs on a daily basis. I've not lost feeling nor control of either of my arms. I have a lot of my strength back and I'm doing a lot of light exercising to build my strength back up.
I must say that was some of the best medicine I've ever had. The only bummer is that my almost unlimited supply of pain meds is no longer available to me.

Hey Florida Slotter!
Good to hear you are recovering well!
I'm having some of the same issues plus shooting pain in the middle of my back.
The doc said I have a herniated disc in my cervical spine pressing on my spinal cord and nerves.
Meds mask the problem for a short time but the only way to correct it is with surgery which I am looking at in the near future now.
My doc said with as young as I am (46) I should fully recover with everything back to normal once my spinal fusion occurs.
I'd rather be on the back side of this recovering already.....
Sounds like I will have 1-2 months of down time ahead until I can go back on light duty.....
My second MRI Sunday should be more clear as to the path ahead......
Sorry guys for hi jacking the thread......
I hope your recovery continues to go well Florida Slotter!
Like you I can't sit idle too long without getting into some kind of project.
Being a painter by trade I use my hands triggering spray guns regularly also.

This is my weekend to work but the Hot Rod Mavs will be on their way to Rusty tomorrow. It's time I finally bit the bullet and try a brass chassis as you guys have slowly pulled me over to the dark side with the ASA builds.
