Body Screw not biting well

I have a Slot.It Porsche 962 (IMSA Lowenbrau) that has had the body on and off it many, many times. The front mounting screw is not biting well in the front body post anymore. What's the best way to get a good bite back into this post?

There are lots of ways of dealing with tyhis that we have used for 50 years of this stuff, but the best by far is the post repair kits from SCC. Its a very slick, permanent solution to the common problem.

Are the SCC repair kits brass? ie heavy?

My first instinct is a dribble of super glue in the hole and a stir round with a toothpick....more can happen after this.

If you screw it in before the glue sets then yes....but I usually leave it for 30-40 minutes.
The screw will have a crunchy feel as it goes in the first time after using the glue.

Try some fingernail polish on the screw before you screw in back in.

I ended up using Bob Smith Industries Super Gold Plus. It's a medium thick CA glue. I applied it with a very thin needle (my wife is a quilter and has some amazingly thin, long needles); dipped the needle into glue that I had squirted out onto a small plastic baggy and then applied it only to the thread surface inside the front body mounting post. I applied it very thinly and used 3 coats. Let it set up for 60 minutes and screwed the chassis to the body.

I wasn't satisfied; still not as much grip as I have in the rear.

So, I reapplied the Super Gold Plus; another 3 coats; let it set up for another hour and now I have a good bite on the front body mount; as good as the rear.

I'm thinking that, perhaps, the fact that I run the front body mounting screw looser than the rear, coupled with the fact that most of my deslots occur with front end impact, over time, causes wear and the lack of bite in the front mounting post.

So, I'm planning to keep my Super Gold Plus close at hand as I continue to race this car.

Assuming the post is not fractured I put one turn of plumbers Teflon tape around the screw.

Did you heat shrink the body posts?

They might have developed small cracks. The heat shrink will keep them from spreading.

No, I didn't. Where do you find/source the shrink wrap tubes for the body posts?

Nailpolish is also a good repair for this problem as stated by others.
