who or what is BonGrip Spikes??

Trying to model the 68 Corvette that raced at Lemans in 68 and 69. The red Scuderia Filipinetti one. There is a logo on the front quarter panel that I can not read. But one of the sponsors was BonGrip Spikes and this doesnt appear anywhere else so Im guessing its the logo I cant make out. Does anyone know who this is? Of does anyone have a good pic of the car. Im after the car as it raced at LeMans in 68. Lots of pics on the web, but they are not correct. Well not correct as of the 68 race. Scaly do the model but Im pretty sure their livery is incorrect.

As near as I can tell, Bongrip was a tire accessory outfit, and the Spikes were for the metal studs in their snow tires. They sponsored a lot of very expensive race cars in the early 70s, including two Lola T-70s, and two LT-1 Vettes, one of which was James Garner's car, and another the red over white Scuderria you mentioned. Scaley did both of the Vettes, and the yellow Lola.

Thanks for the help. Yeah the Scaly version is wrong. Its based on the "modern as the car is liveried" now rather than how it was back in the day when it ran in 68/69. Ill keep looking for pics, I'll find something eventually.

It is too bad that Google can't tell the difference between BonGrip and Bong Rip, apparently Bong Rip is much more popular. In any case I found these:

I was not able to find a picture of just the logo, it would be tricky to recreate.

I can't figure out what orifice Scalextric gets their head stuck in sometimes. There have been several liveries done inaccurately according to history, based on what some rich twit who owns the car today has done. A case in point would be the pink Cougar that should be Mercury factory metallic red. The pink is based on the silly looking livery the current owner put on the car, destroying the historic paint and the original livery so the only way to see it is in old pictures from the time. And there appears to be no plan to produce the green livery of the stablemate car. The Univ. of Pittsburg car (I still don't understand why they produced it), has wheels that are glaringly wrong, nothing like what belongs on it, which resemble Audi TT wheels. There has never been any other livery or wheels on that Pittsburg Camaro, but they changed it anyway, in spite of the fact that Scaley makes the Audi wheels that are, as I say, very close to what belongs on the car. I used think it was a matter of economy, but when it would have cost them nothing more to do something correctly, I am mystified. I am not going to stop buying Scaleys, but I get tired of having to check cars to see if what they are producing is really what they say it is, or if they did something goofy for no good reason..

The long word seems to break into 3. Could be due to the compression artefacts on the images, but the middle section seems to be Lemmon yellow rather than white. Other than that no help, sorry.

picture 8/10 and zoom in - I get to about 250% - I can make out the goodyear logo with a checkered flag above.
