I didn't care for the fake engine anyway, so I hacked it up to lower the body. The chassis screw holes actually line up pretty good in the rear, but up front you have to invent a post. The interior has to be cut out for the motor, but you cut it out in a spot that is almost invisible from above. Whoever had this chassis before had turned the front tires down enough to make the car a tripod, which I can't stand, so when I put normal tires up front, the stance and the body height just fell into place. This really was an easy conversion, and like I say, I had this chassis just laying around in the parts box, anyway. I disassembled the front end and outlined the parts with silver to make the details of the grill and headlights come out, and I took the numbers off the headlights. Carrera put little plugs in the fresh air scoops under the front bumper, which looked weird, so I popped them out and drilled the scoop holes open, which added a lot more than I thought to the looks of it. The body itself is very thick plastic, so there's plenty of room to thin out the inside of the fenders for tire clearance, which not only helps with lowering the body, it allows a wider stance for handling improvement.
