TGIF - Picking up, Speeding up, & Thank You!

Another week in the books, and looks like things are going to start picking up.

New releases will start to come out near the end of this month and then come October it will get really busy.

Had a few toys come in but they are just for my personal fun :) 2 more Carrera DTM models, the Scaley Tyrrell, and some parts.

Last week I also upgraded HRW to a new server and host. Thanks to the folks who contribute to HRW, this allowed us to get this done. I cannot thank these folks enough. Our site now loads much faster and is more secure on the server side, something I feel a lot better about.

Nothing is perfect of course, but so far our load times are about as good as it gets. I can't control the connections you use, but upgrading to this new server helps me control this place more efficiently once you arrive. For example, there are less spammers trying to log in. This might seem like nothing, but when we have a lot of spammers trying to log in, it clogs our resources at the server end. Now things are much better.

Also want to remind folks that newcomers will begin to arrive. These are important people who need our help to get the most fun out of the hobby. I will try and create some quickie articles to help answer questions, but I know these folks will get the best help our hobby has to offer from YOU. A good forum is one with great people that help each other, I think HRW leads the way. Other forums might be larger, but I believe in QUALITY not quantity.

Thanks again to all of you. Appreciate the contributions. Both donations of funds AND time. Money to run a site is just one part, having great content is the other. When you help a person by sharing your layouts, models, tuning...or just answering a question, you are contributing priceless information.

Looks like this weekend will be busy. I have "Papaw" duty Saturday, look forward to having the wee-ones over for some fun. Hopefully we can get a race going :)

Happy Friday! And what a week it has been. Energy audits are no fun, and this is only the pre-audit work stage LOL. The real fun starts in two weeks.

But no matter - I am taking today off!!! Just me, a Chevy II, and a Corvair. I should have the II up for sale by the end of the day and the Corvair should be well on its way of being chopped up.

Garage door opener went Tango Uniform and is being replaced today. Thanks to a warranty, I don't have to lift a finger. Just in time too...woke up to a dusting of SNOW this morning and about 40 degrees - this is only September 12...right? Al Gore can kiss my fanny. Should be 70 by afternoon and well into it again this weekend. Planing on going to Rocky Mtn. National Park on Saturday for some hiking and wheeling. Oh, and my beloved Broncos host the Chefs this weekend.

Need to place an order for more Dum-Dums and maybe I'll be lucky enough to have a few slot car parts thrown in the box.

We got 3 inches of rain on Wednesday, was dry yesterday but it's spitting again today, high 50s right now.
Going to work on the tractors today; had new shoes put on the Grand Marquis on Wednesday, had to take it back this morning to get them rebalanced, all ok now.
Painting and lightening ship continues, looks like it may be Spring before we're able to sell this place!
Didn't go racing this week, they cancelled due to poor attendance so the Ninco E Type I got from Shotgun will have to wait for it's track debut.

The wife and kids were planning on going apple picking.

Nervously awaiting my neck/spinal surgery this upcoming Thursday.

Hopefully they know what they are doing and won't lop my head off and have to screw on a new one.

By this time next week I will be on the back side of it hopefully for the long slow recovery......

They say I will be wearing a cone of shame for awhile.....

Well, Saturday here already. His Lordship just informed me he's going fishing. So, that leaves me to my own devices. Two articles to finish off and then maybe I'll play with some brass bits. I want to get this Giulietta sorted. She's far too pretty to leave her sitting on the bench.

Got my cars tuned for next weekend's "Carolina Chaos". Still playing around with gear ratios for my Sideways Capri.

I've been doing some work on the track. Grafted a border to one spot that was beginning to be a small problem for the larger cars. And I'm putting some guard rails in places.

Going to a car show tomorrow morning and then Jeff will probably drive up from Moorseville and I'll help him tune some of his cars.

I've still got to do some grocery shopping, source some tables and chairs and find another crock pot.

Then after the race weekend packing for Seattle...

Things are a lot quicker around here, thanks Harry. I'm working on a Scaley Challenger still. It just needs decals and detailing. Also built another Fly racing F40 Ferrari, man these are some smooth cars, but only available in yellow which is strange. :roll:
