Seen that this is very close to coming our way.

Check your dealer as always.

I saw one of these at a local filling station a couple of weeks back. I had to look twice to make sure I wasn't seeing a visitor from another world refueling his lime-green ship. They certainly look unique!

What's really scary (or cool depending on your perspective) is that this car is seen as small.....but the 917 coupe really isn't too much larger and in fact is about the same height.
Talk about impressive, with 800 HP on tap.........

I drove one when they came out and thought they were too uncomfortable to have as a daily driver with almost no seat pad, but a lot of fun. Then my boss got a 914/6, and I drove it and decided it was a fantastic car, and couldn't wait for him to get tired of it and sell it to me. He wrapped it around a tree. I told him I could stand to lose him, but losing that car was a heartbreak. He said that the statement was "well said" and we went out for beer together, just the two of us. I swear, it was a wake for that car and the two people who loved it. Felt kinda weird, really. If he was still alive I'd paint one up to match his and send it to him. I haven't thought about that for years.

I've waited for this for a long time. How do I get in line to get one?
The fenders are going to have to be flared, race slicks and roll cage added and a repaint then it will look like my avatar.
I won two SCCA GP championships with that car and still miss it even though I see it from time to time with a friend of mine now winning Porsche club championships with it. It is one car I miss owning despite the fact that racing had become too time consuming and expensive.
Ventura Alfa (should be Porsche914)

There is a doctor here in town who has a 914 with a 350 Chevy V8, flared fenders and some pretty wide tires. The 914 would be a cool slot car for sure. I'd like to see a 924 too.

I would email Bruce at Cincy. He has a good line on these releases.

The 914 was always one of my favorites along with the Mazda Miata. Unfortunately they are both way too small for my needs. But I will probably get the 1/32 version.

Oh my! Super excited to see this upcoming release. I've owned at least two 914/4s and one 914/6 1:1. Super fun cars to drive and work on...
I built the green resin kit of the car 914/6 that raced at LeMans. I will add one of these to my little collection for sure. Should make a nice running mate for the SRC Capris I already have. I hope they decide to do the flared fender versions as well....

Neat car, and it's been way under-represented in the slot car world.
Considering getting a 1:1, so if anybody has suggestions about what to look for, I'm all ears. I know the 2.0 liter engine is preferable to the 1.7, and you have to watch for rust in the 'hell-holes'. Anything else you guys might want to share? :)

Like you already said, the 2.0 is the preferable engine but a lot less common. You could always purchase a clean 1.7 and use the money you saved to purchase and install a big bore kit. This made a huge difference in the performance of the lil 2 seater. They used to be plenty of mostly rust free examples in southern California so if you are ship, I'd look there first.
Oh and if the one you buy doesn't have it already, get yourself a short shift kit. The stock throw is a bit long and can get sloppy if the bushings are worn.
I've also driven a couple of chevy v8 conversions and all I can say is wow….
Happy Hunting Kurt!
