Does anyone here use Race Coordinator?

I’ve been playing with a demo of the Race Coordinator software and really like it! I’ve been using the VRS system I’d purchased in 2000 and it is pretty stripped out – I really like the features in Race Coordinator, especially the fuel useage.
I’ve got the parallel cable with IR’s from the VRS system and after attempting to figure out the Race Coordinatorsetup I’m really not sure what the differences are between the Status/Reference/Control Registers is.
My current VRS cable is wired as such:
Will I have to re-wire the pins or will this work with RC? If so, can anyone help me through the setup?
Thanks!

David, I have been using RC on the road course, but only as a program. I already had the trac mate system up and running when I installed it. I wish I could help with the wiring part!.
That Fuel usage feature is a blast!

Hey Dave
I jus switched over to Race Cor.from SPTS. I believe if you go to the expert track setup window you can tell the program what pins you are using for what lanes ....in other words... pin 10 =lane 1 ect ect. I was using photo cells for the old timing system , and I switched over with very little trouble. Hope this helps

Thanks guys - I know where the settings are, the issue is the wiring on the current cells. The "common" wire goes to pin #25 and the settings don't go that high. I also wasn't sure what the difference was between status, control, etc was.

Just a quick follow-up if anyone ever finds this - the lighting was the issue: I never had to rewire it at all. RC lights up which pin is getting light from the photocell. STUPID SIMPLE! That's why I couldn't figure it out...

I just replaced Trakmate and look forward to using it on my track. I am trying to figure out how to add fueling though. I have Carson Sensor track for start line. Short of webcam or something else overhead ideas how to do fuel would be awesome.

Bob - So far it is great!!!
eAddict - Does the Carlson have sensors in the track? If so, you just stop over the sensor to gas it up. Let me know if that isn't correct.

Sensor Track uses emitters and sensors that look across the slot, so it is the guide flag that trips the circuit. It would be very difficult to stop a car in exactly the right place if that system was used with only one set per lane. Two sets per lane would have to be used, one to tell the program that a car had entered the pits and another to tell the program that the car had left. I don't know if the software can handle that.

I haven't used Race Coordinator but I've perused the website and am impressed with many of the features. I don't know much beyond basic electricity. Will Race Coordinator work with I with IR emitters?
