I got my replacement timing stuff from Dan.. and it includes this black board interface..

Anyone else have this? I want to make sure I hook up the track call wires the right way..
The instructions on the software disc and his website are for the older interface :

Everything is in a different location on the new board.. so just looking to see if any of you have this black board
and which wires go to which leads.. (I know the relay goes to the side that says RELAY lol.. just being careful to
do the right thing and not mess it up somehow~
Thanks~

Kev, I have both color boards, and I hooked the black board up both ways with no damage. I cant remember exactly, but it would only work one way I think. either way it didn't hurt anything.

Thanks.. I'm going to need to call Dan Monday anyways as the new USB cord was not recognized by the PC..
So the TrackMate software says invalid Comm port or Comm port not found.. I try to auto detect it and get nothing.
I manually tried all 16 ports and again , nothing.. I went to the devices and I can see the new USB cord, but it has the
little yellow error exclaimation point and when I click on that it says there is no driver installed for that device..
I tried to have the PC auto detect a driver, no go.. had it search the software disc I have and again, no go.
frustrating, but it is what it is ~ I'll call Dan Monday and see if we can get this thing timing again~

I had that same problem, and had to go on line and search for driver updates, then it recognized com 16 on mine.
worked great ever since. the red board I use on the same laptop needs com 15.

TurboKev,
I have the USB TrackMate board just like you have.
The connections to the relay are quite simple. There is no polarity on either one of them. The relay connections only operate or unoperate the relay that controls the power to the track. The switch is nothing more than a way of telling if the switch is depressed or not.
One note to consider, the closer you wire the relay to the power supply the better. It cuts down on noise and makes the Track Call button work much better.

Cool, thanks Marty.. Once I get the interface recognized by comm port I should be good to go~

I just finished installing mine.
You need to install the drivers off the CD that are marked for the new interface (black board). If you don't have them/or the cd, I'll upload them for you.
In the setup where you choose the com port, you should see a new COM4. Choose this one and ignore the autodetect.
Mine works now. But if you choose AUTO it does not select the right port.

I'll double check the cd again.. don't recall seeing black board specific drivers..
I'll let you know, thanks!

Talked to Dan about it. That is what he had me check.

This should be what you see on your CD.
And then manually set the port. According to Dan it might not select the correct one. In my case this was true.

My software CD only has half that content.. and no mention of the black board.
I'll call Dan tomorrow to see of he can give me a link to the drivers..
Thanks!

WooHoo!!
Thanks for the drivers Harry.. installed them, set the com port (3 in my case) and the new setup is working just fine.
Ran several hundred laps between 3 lanes with different cars and controllers and didn't have one failure~
Finally!
