Yes, yes...I know that scale folks are not pleased and have every right. Wrong year car, color is off, wheels are incorrect...all noted.

And yet, it doesn't matter that much when the car looks this good :)

Image

I outfitted this car with SCC 15x8's and Slot.it gears, Slot.it wood guide. Turned the rear wheels down to make the inserts. PG 21125 tires. Tight fit, but I contoured them just a little to fit nicely.

The rear axle assembly was bent and I was offered to return it, but what do I have all this slotbling for anyway?

Besides, The General claimed ownership as soon as I opened it and wanted to make sure it was right.

She could care less about the scale issues. She thinks it looks fantastic and wants to race it. Wellm, race it we shall.

Like I said, the scale issues are there. Do they matter to you? If so, pass on it. I just thought it looked too good, right or wrong, to pass it up.

I couldn't care less - the car looks the part and mine runs great. I hope to get some PGT's on it this weekend and break it in properly.

Those meats you shoved under it look amazing.

Had a quick shoot out with the Smokey Stang and Cougar. These are the other 2 models that have been rebuilt using same gears, motor, etc.

All on the white lane, and about as close as it gets. The Camaro is boss right now...but the difference is my old trigger finger I'm sure.

Sure is fun just running tonight. I was told I will have company tomorrow as The General will take control. Most likely get my hat handed to me

On this one I used the Sloting Plus Victor II self aligning bushings. They are silly money, but they work.

Image

They clear the motor and snap in easily enough. You will notice the slightly larger thickness of the flange on one side. To fit the wider tires I needed to contour them a little. That is why I like PG. Easy to accomplish that. I could have flipped the bushings but then they might have rubbed the motor. In any case, either way would work. Especially if you choose the standard tire width. I just can't help myself with this car, I shove the meathooks in there when I can, :)

I like to order those B-Nova assortment packs. Never know what size I will need. In this car I used the 1/16th. I still added a couple shims on the guide to set the tripod.
