Polishing Q

I've stripped the paint off of a carrera cuda drag car with the intention of doing a repaint, but the bare shell is a cool high gloss black. However there are a couple of cloudy sections, kind of like smudged hand prints. What should I be looking for to bring up the shine?

P.S. Happy turkey day tomorrow.

Thanks
Randy

If they are blemishes in the plastic you'll need to polish them out with fine grades of wet & dry.

If you're keen in keeping the bare plastic Meguiar's Wet Look does a nice job.

Thanks for the reps people. I sure would like to try to keep the bare plastic if I could Ember, as there is no way that I could improve the finish that is already there.

Bare plastic will show all the dings, so improving the surface won't last long. I use the Meguiars to polish up the clear plastic on display boxes. So, give it a whirl.

Ember these cloudy spots appear to be a mild scuffing. Paint adhesion? Will definitely try the Meguiars.

Without seeing it it's difficult to tell. The Wet Look will fill fine scratches.

You can always try a cotton ball and whatever you used for stripping to see if you can get rid of anything more.
