modified chassis update

Postby slotguy » Sun Jan 04, 2015 2:41 pm

I will be making a narrow chassis for the 1/32 nd nymodifieds that vintage1/24 and I offer now . By narrower I mean that I will be moving the side rub rail in closer to the chassis so they dont stick out beond the tires . if anyone has a width that they feel will work best please let me know I plan on overall width to be appox. 2.5in .I will start these new chassis as soon as I get the wheels from cbd and the tires from pgt. I will be able to offer these cars in a roller or a rtr email or call for pricing

Hi Tony.. Sending you a PM later with pictures and measurements, but my opinion is that 2.5" is too narrow..

I think 2.750 is the way to go on these.. That is where I set the front and rear width of the tires, and right now they are tucked inside the rails..
Would look great if the wheels and the rails were the same width front and back.. I had already planned to trim and resolder the chassis' I already got
as they are just a little too wide right now.. The most recent of them is over 3 inches wide at the side rails, but narrowing to 2.5 would be too much.

More later in the PM...

Thanks Kev for your input I did not know how wide you run then because we run at 3.25 wide . So 2.75 will work .waybe just a little narrower because the real cars are not alloud to have the rail uoyside the tires
thanks kev
