The Coda Lunga was such an unusually proportioned car it must be very difficult to make an adequate model. Fly famously got it done, but even they foreshortened the tail a bit. Or that's what I remember guys talking about. I bought a flock of them over the years, and even painted a David Piper version. I can't wait for someone to take a photo of the Fly and Racer cars side by side.

They, most likely, are not the same scale. Racer cars, traditionally, are 1/30th scale. Somewhat bigger than 1/32.

I'm one of those guys who's more interesting in proportions rather than absolute scale. I want the car to look right, even if it's a little off in terms of size. These cars are stunning, and do a much better job than Fly at capturing the car.
That said, the 512S mold by Fly is 15 years old, and it's taken this long for anybody to catch up -- and it took a specialty builder in resin to do it. Fly has been knocked off the top of the mountain, but they deserve a standing ovation as they make their way back down the hill to base camp.

Oh, I have no problem with the size of my three Racer Ferraris. As you said it is the proportions that need to be right. Scale is of secondary importance. My Racer 250 GTO LM64 is noticeably larger than the same car from Revell and much more detailed.

Must… resist… the urge… to spend…
Another gorgeous beauty from Racer. I love the deep dish wheels on this one. And yes, they did capture the proportions and curves beautifully!
